In 2024, businesses continue to innovate in the realms of lead generation and customer acquisition, utilizing a blend of outsourcing solutions, warm lead strategies, and outbound SDR services. Here’s a comprehensive look at companies leading these efforts across different segments, including notable contributions from Indian startups that are making significant strides in these areas.
Pay-As-You-Use Outsourcing Solutions
Outsourcing remains a strategic choice for companies aiming to scale efficiently. Pay-as-you-go services can be broken down into 2 levels beyond the advertisement/outreach stage:
Pay-Per-Lead
Instead of spending on advertisements, marketing events, and cold calls, one can invest in buying high-intent leads directly. Cost per lead in a company’s internal analytics are often calculated are a direct cost of lead generation divided by the number of leads generated that do not consider the indirect costs of lead generation such as human resources, infrastructure, and administration. Variability in the CPL due to both internal and external factors also adds to the pain.
Getting an internal projection on Cost-per-lead and then negotiating with Pay-Per-Lead providers seems relevant for high-performing small teams. For Example, IT, Computer, Software, and Technical Services have the highest average cost per lead at $208 and Non-Profits have the lowest at $31.
These figures refer to enterprise grade ticket sizes. For RA Fitness Meals, a service name of my startup RA Health, we had consistent lead generation cost in the range of $1-$2 for our meal subscriptions starting at $10 when performed internally.
Pay-Per-Appointment

demandDrive focuses on developing outbound sales operations, offering services that go beyond traditional lead generation to include inbound sales development[xiv] and a temp-to-hire pipeline, catering to sectors like cybersecurity and healthcare technology

Outbound SDR Services
For businesses seeking proactive outreach rather than reactive reach to potential clients, these companies provide notable outbound SDR services:
CIENCE offers a people-driven solution for outbound sales development[xvii] for clients like Yamaha Corporation, Microsoft, Google, and Uber.
Belkins and Martal Group are noted for their top-of-the-funnel services. Martal Group is also able provide completely outsourced sales services[xviii] and has Zoho and Bosch in its clientele.
RocketReach and Pearl Lemon Lead Generation are relevant in securing high-quality leads through verified databases and digital marketing strategies.
Leadium claims to have generated over 10 million unique leads, working closely with clients like Sodexo to define quality leads and ideal customer fit. Their deep dive into customer data showcases the importance of personalized outreach in modern SDR services. Outplay, is also in this segment, and has recently raised funding.
A Bengaluru-based Indian Start-up, SquadStack brings in a twist in telecalling outsourcing by providing parallel calls for as low as Rs 10 per minutes in certain cases making it a highly affordable and efficient service in customised strategically for lead management[xix].
Conclusion
The landscape of lead generation and customer acquisition in 2024 is dominated by companies that offer flexible, efficient, and targeted solutions to meet the diverse needs of businesses. From outsourcing entire sales processes to focusing on generating warm leads and employing outbound SDR strategies, these service providers, Warm Leadz, Martal Group, and SquadStack, play a crucial role in driving business growth. Choosing between proactive and reactive marketing is purely a strategic choice, however, I have always felt the risk of endangering my reputation with pro-active marketing and triggering spam alerts. Using partners who are experienced in this approach may enable higher ROI and lower time frames.
